Welcome

Dear students and dear delegates,

Thank you very much for joining the Model United Nations Refugee Challenge. It's amazing to see tens of thousands of young people eager to find solutions to help refugees. Like most of you, half of the refugees in the world are under 18. You are the future. And as my organization, UNHCR, marks its 70th anniversary, I invite you to become a young champion for refugees. Let us work together to create a better world for people forced to flee.

Introduction

Model United Nations Refugee Challenge

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is challenging Model United Nations (MUN) delegates worldwide to debate the major issues related to forced displacement and shape solutions to help people forced to flee their homes.

The resolutions that emerge from these debates will be put before a jury. The best ideas will be shared with policymakers and be promoted on UNHCR’s social media channels, which are followed by millions of people. Since 2020, over 40,000 students from 80 countries have joined UNHCR's Challenge and developed solutions to issues related to forced displacement during their MUNs. 80% of participants declare that the Challenge has improved their perceptions of refugees.

ASDAN China organizes MUN conferences to discuss refugee topics and invite Chinese delegates to join MUN Refugee Challenge to voice for refugee group! Make the move from Model UN to Real UN!
