Live in Historic Oxford Colleges
Students will be accommodated in one of the following colleges during the program
University College (Oxford)
Founded in 1249, University College is among Oxford’s most historic Colleges and has claimed to be its oldest – other candidates include Queen’s, Merton, and Balliol. Its original buildings were on the site of what is now Brasenose College, but in 1332 the College moved to its iconic High Street location.
Merton College (Oxford)
Originally catering for just twenty fellows, Merton dates its foundation back to 1264 and is therefore a strong contender for the oldest College in the University. The College’s Mob Quad and Library are respectively the oldest quadrangle and library in the University, built in three stages from 1288-1378, and the porter’s lodge still boasts a crenellated battlement dating back to the reign of Henry V.
*Most of the participants will be accommodated in their own individual or twin bedrooms.
